The DSC-W35 features a 1/2.5-inch Super HAD 7.2 MP CCD, a Carl Zeiss 3x optical zoom lens, and compatibility with accessory lenses, lights, and flash units. The camera also features a handful of shooting modes, a plethora of movie mode settings, and a High Sensitivity mode for shooting at up to ISO 1000. It has focal length of the 3x optical zoom lens which is equivalent to 38 - 114mm in 35mm format. Up to 14x smart zoom is available as well as digital zoom. Smart zoom becomes available when you shoot at lower resolutions. The maximum aperture is f2.8 - f5.2.

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W50 is a compact 6 Megapixel camera with a 3X optical zoom lens, 2.5″ LCD display, VGA movie mode, and point-and-shoot operations. One of the other big features on the W50 is its high sensitivity mode, which can boost the ISO to 1000 for sharp, blur free photos. It has 32MB worth of built-in memory, which holds ten photos at the highest JPEG quality setting. The W50 uses Memory Stick Duo cards, NP-BG1 lithium-ion rechargeable battery. The focal range of the lens is 6.3 - 18.9 mm, which is equivalent to 38 - 114 mm.
