Suzuki Escudo which is also known as Suzuki Sidekick, Suzuki Vitara, Geo Tracker  and Suzuki Samurai/Katana, was first produced in 1986. The original 1989 North American Sidekick was available as a 2-door convertible or hardtop, in 1.3 liter JA and more powerful 4-wheel-drive JX & JLX trims. An 80 hp (60 kW) 1.6 liter, 8-valve, 4-cylinder engine was available on the JX & JLX.

The following manual provides detail procedures for maintaining, servicing, repairing and troubleshooting Suzuki Geo Tracker/Escudo/Sidekick/Samurai/ Katana 1986 – 1996 models.
