It has 15.6-inch Brightview LED display with 1366 x 768 pixel resolution; a nearly full-size keyboard; and a touchpad that supports multitouch gestures. It uses Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium for the operating system with other software included such as CyberLink: DVD Suite, YouCam; and RoxioNow.
The dv6 is equipped with Blu-ray ROM DVD±R/RW SuperMulti Double-Layer Drive; HP TrueVision HD webcam; Wi-Fi 802.11 n/b/g; four USB ports (two USB 3.0- ports on the left side and the pair of USB 2.0 connectors are on the right); two audio outputs and one input connector, plus VGA, HDMI, and ethernet. It also offers interesting features such as: CoolSense technology that automatically adjusts your notebook’s thermal settings; Beats Audio technology that delivers studio-quality music; and HP SimplePass to securely access all your stored passwords with the simple swipe of a finger.
