HTC Flyer Specs and Features

There are two type of HTC Flyer: the one that works with GSM and Wi-Fi, and the other that only uses Wi-Fi. It needs to be noticed that this tablet is  not capable to do Voice Communication. Although there is specially designed Android OS for Tablet (Android HoneyComb / Android 3.0), the HTC Flyer only uses Android Gingerbread (Android Version 2.3.3) instead.

This tablet is armored with 1.5 GHz processor and 1 GB RAM. On the storage sector, it provides 32GB of internal storage and supports microSD card up to 32 GB. The display features 7” LCD capacitive touchscreen with 600 x 1024 pixels resolution; Accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate; HTC Sense UI; Multi-touch input method; Handwriting support; and two sets of touch-sensitive controls for landscape and portrait use. For the connectivity, it offers Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n; Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP; and microUSB v2.0.

Two cameras are attached on the phone. 5 MP main camera with Autofocus, Geo-tagging and Video Recording capability and a secondary 1.3MP front-facing camera for video chat. For other features, this Tablet also offers: preloaded Google Application (including: Google Talk, YouTube, Android Market, Google Maps, GMail, Google Search and more); GPS with A-GPS support; SNS integration; Digital compass; Push Email; Instant Messaging; Java MIDP emulator MP3/AAC+/WAV/WMA player; DivX/Xvid/MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV player; Adobe Flash 10.1 player; Voice memo; Predictive text input; and more.

It is said that the Li-Ion 4000mAh battery is able to support up to 4 hours of constant video playback.

HTC Flyer Setup Guide (page 12 of the manual)

When you switch on HTC Flyer for the first time, you’ll be asked to set it up. You can choose your language, how you want to connect to the Internet, and whether you want your current location to be automatically detected. If you still have personal contacts and calendar events stored on your old phone, you can easily transfer them to HTC Flyer through Bluetooth as well.

Be sure to sign in to your Google® Account so you can use Google apps like Gmail™ and Android Market™. You can also set up your other email accounts, favorite social networks like Facebook® and Twitter™, and more.

Just follow the onscreen instructions and you’ll be up and running in no time.

Performing HTC Flyer Factory Data Reset will permanently delete all your data and customized settings, and will also remove any apps you’ve downloaded and installed. Be sure to back up any data and files you want to keep before you do a factory reset.
