2004 mazda rx8. this car cut out whilst doinig 60mph. once recovered found car started fine with easy start. so must be fuel related?? when you turn ingnition on you hear fuel pump prime. i disconnected feul pipe to take sample of fuel and when pimed fuel pump fuel only just came out. would this relate to pump fault or filter blocked(filter in tank)? any help would be great. thanks steve.

2004 Mazda rx8 done 62000. I have a funny squicking noise coming from the engine bay on tick over, but goes when u rev it. What could it be? Plus do these cars hav some time belt that needs to be change; if so – when?

squeaking noise is most likely the drive belts for alternator a/c ect.

as for the fuel issue the pump will only continue to run when the engine is either cranked or started. but fault is most likely a shorted crank sensor. suggest a diaonostic with a scanner you can find good ones on ebay quite cheaply.

engine service is usaly around 7-10’000 miles. irespective of oil consumption only use specified oil and maintain oil level. for full service including plugs belts ect 60’000 miles. suggest you go to a specialist for a service. as rotor motors are a specialist engine. and are heart attack inducing if something goe’s wrong.
