Suzuki Escudo which is also known as Suzuki Sidekick, Suzuki Vitara, Geo Tracker  and Suzuki Samurai/Katana, was first produced in 1986. The original 1989 Suzuki Geo Tracker North American Sidekick was available as a 2-door convertible or hardtop, in 1.3 liter JA and more powerful 4-wheel-drive JX & JLX trims. An 80 hp (60 kW) 1.6 liter, 8-valve, 4-cylinder engine was available on the JX & JLX.

The following manual provides detail procedures for maintaining, servicing, repairing and troubleshooting Suzuki Geo Tracker/Escudo/Sidekick/Samurai/ Katana 1986 – 1996 models. This service manual is divided into Chapters. Each chapter is divided into numbered sections, which are headed in bold type between horizontal lines. Each Section consists of consecutively numbered paragraphs.
